Tried this a few times....
first attempt was my canthan monk who made it to level 18 (if I remember) and got owned by the rit boss north of zen dajun on that island (before they changed him)..
second attempt was a canthan mesmer, died at level 13 during the siege of tsumei village
third attempt was on my paragon, got to level 19, and 131000 xp when my hubby decided to agro 3 groups in the keys....he died quickly, the dumb plants dropped a slow spell on me as I tried to run away....she died and I didnt play her for almost 3 more months, and I didnt talk to my hubby for many days .
4th attempt....my male rit....made it to level 1 died at 170k ....he was part of tyria's most wanted male...
my 5th (and still continuing on) attempt is my elonian ele who has made it to 190k and with all the lag I face refuses to leave the jungle of tyria for fear of dying horribly! I hope to get her to level 2 at least before she dies.
I try to keep most of my toons alive to level 20, but some just never get there: my r/a died during training , my warrior; well, she and koss died horribly at the hands of some corsairs many levels over them (a death of a klingon!)....most of the others died due to stupidity on my part.
I still play them all. even the paragon got dusted off and has made it almost to the gate of desolation in nf.
I very rarely (ok never have) delete a toon that has made it to level 5 (I have mules that are level 4 and have almost never played them---except for holiday events which dont require much for the quests). I just buy more slots instead
I figured best way would be to farm with scrolls. So I made a Warrior with the sole intention of farming UW smites with the well known W/Rt build.
Made a tyrian char got my daughters account to run me to Lions Arch and then Keineng for max armour and high easy xp quests then Kamadan to pick up heroes and back to Ascalon to lvl up. (Let the heroes do the dangerous stuff).
Then I needed the rit elite VwK so I made a monk on my daughters account in Factions and took my warrior through to Leviathan pits mostly afk, just run away out of trouble at the cut scenes. And capped the skill, not required anymore thanks to tombs lol.
Get some practice in UW solo then just farm away and Alt+F4 if you find yourself taking damage when running to the smites.
Think it took a couple of weeks to do but it might of been longer plus all those ectos made it more than worthwhile and easily payed the way for scrolls.
Reckon if I had died I would of just started again no problem, just even more ectos. XD.
My Paragon was close to getting to getting to tier 2, but I died in Asurian territory (was my fault - don't ask ) and I still continue to play him (too much of a hassle to start over imo)
Had months of work in a L2 Survivor, when i tried the farm methode on this forum. Then I made a mistake and he died; I kinda cursed the game, the monster who killed my monk, the monk who died, this forum, the thread and the guy who started the thread about the farming :P . Of course it was all my own fault but the last thing you normally blame is yourself.
Then I tried the farming again with the best classcombinatio (me/mo), but cantha isn't the nicest place to start. Had to redo the starterislands about 9 times to finally die after all at the same position my para was screwed.
I haven't used my paragon since then, but my mesmer is pretty fun to play with.
lol ive /failed too many times xD. Im a risk taker in RL and thus tend to be in gw too lol. My most recent attempt at survivor saw me die when i went up against a mob of lvl 24's with a lvl 17. They spiked me, but thats not usually a problem... only this time i forgot i had changed my log out key....
but i like the title... It gives pve a supercharged jolt of adrenaline
edit: I almost always delete a non-survivor, with the exception of a survivor 2, which I was merciful to, because she was my only girl character (and because i needed hard mode =P)

Otherwise I got a character to Survivor in a matter of a few hours from the Wintersday Underworld mission where you fight the Snowmen.
My Dervish hit R1 Survivor doing that mission now he gets played on double xp cap weekends to further his progress. He's on about 900k atm I think.
(He was a mule but decided to try for Survivor to see if it could be done on that Wintersday mission)
He was lvl20 with no deaths before getting a 2nd profession too
I've only actively gone for a survivor title once, on my NF ele. She got to two, then died during a lag spike in one of the Fire Island missions (Abaddon's Mouth, I think). Was upset for about two minutes, shrugged and moved on. I still have her and she's one of my favorites to play . Then there's a ranger I got to s1. Once I reached lvl 20, I dragged a friend into a scrimmage and demanded she kill me before I got tempted to continue on.
Nowadays, all new characters get their first death from random lvl 1 creatures in the starting area
ill tell ya what i do...
my ranger....my main...
didnt know about survivor title at first, and went out to kill myself randomly over and over(lol) then when i found out about survivor,i had my 15k armour
max title missout imo
This is often the results of those who go for survivor
*And the pic shown here is Dawn from the hit reality TV series Pokemon. I don't watch the show myself, but my younger cousin is a fan of it. I'm 18 years old and I outgrown it, although I do intentionally make funny articles on pokemon on uncyclopedia. I'm just want to convert my anger to humor.*
reality? brb then, gonna go the the mountains to capture some rare pokemon
TBH.. I don't think I'd be able to get survivor on any characters.. because.. dying is just.. inevitable for me.. XD Not because i'm an aggro freak or not careful enough.. it's just.. Dying is just.. something I not-necessarily "enjoy".. but something like that.. haha.. If it happens it happens.. and I don't wanna be one of those people that are like.. super picky on how they should do something and if blahblah happens they won't risk it.. or if they're like 10exp from level20 and they die.. so they reroll that character.... i wouldn't go remaking that character just because of the time I would've put onto it and such..
I just make characters I want to make and enjoy playing them however I want to.. and don't want to feel restricted because a certain area has a high aggro zone or something.. >.>
In summary. Just a title I don't go for.. and don't try for.. xD
Got my Assassin to nearly level 20. I was so excited even though it was only r1. Anyway. Was getting a run far into NF because an old guildie told me of a "great" way to solo farm mobs in a specific location. I forget the location. I just know that I lagged one day, came back dead after getting ran and running myself to certain areas.
Much much later I deleted my old warrior seeing as how she looked like an overcooked strip of bacon with her skin tone and I had SOMEHOW chosen the most fugly looking face. Not to mention I was furious with the attribute quests in prophecies. So I rerolled a new warrior and got her safely to level 8. Went to move on into post-searing. At the time I didn't know about the easy logout option, long story short I manually logged out and ended up logging out at EXACTLY 1 health while bleeding away. To my amazement I came back with no deaths. After which I spent a painstaking amount of time trying to find a runner smarter than a sack of potatoes to help me get to Droks for max armor, ending up getting scammed by fake runners in the process trying to get me killed and rob me of my money. Finally a friend told me that he had a friend that had Legendary survivor and was willing to run me to LA cheaply. I then got to LA, switched to NF and got max armor there. Went back to prophecies and farmed Minotaurs in HM until finally achieving the title.
That being said... It was quite the journey but I wouldn't recommend trying it repeatedly. It gets really stressful, albeit fun!
Just remember the game Frogger when you're going for the title. If you rush you're going to get crushed.... Oh and ALWAYS rely on guildies and/or friends. Simply because I've noticed a lot of people will try to get you killed when you mention you're going for survivor T_T

I got it right on my monk the third time. First attempt i got vaporized by mursaat ether seals. Second time i got pwnd by the brood wile still level one (i didn't even know it was be there!). Third time i finished the job.
I'm not really too stressed with the survivor title. If my character survives to lvl 20 somehow, I'll be happy, but if I die, i'll think 'Oh well, never mind', and just keep going. 8 letters under my name isn't going to be the cause of me voluntarily losing hours and hours of my life.
Not my screenie, belongs to a guildy of mine Figured it fits the thread nicely.
Any time I failed survivor on my assassin I just re-rolled, didn't matter how much money or time I had spent on it, I was having fun and was dedicated to getting that title.
I have it now and proudly display it everywhere I go ^_^
